A non-partisan civic movement

Every human is born to flourish.

Flourishing is not reserved for the few.
It belongs to everyone.

We help people rediscover hope, connection, and agency through conversations that matter — because flourishing isn’t something you achieve alone; it’s something we build together.

why we exist

Optimism is not wishful thinking

We know more than ever about what allows people to thrive — and less than ever about how to talk about it across the lines that divide us.

Fear-based pessimism is dividing us, fracturing people into tribes sorted by what they’re against. Love-based optimism is what unites us.

By most of the measures that matter, humanity has more to build on than at any point in history. What we lack is not knowledge or grounds for hope. It is the capacity to talk with one another about what we’re building.

what we are

A movement & a mission

We are building a movement of people who choose hope and act on it.

The movement is a community of people — across political, cultural, and ideological lines — who want to come together to think seriously about what helps human beings thrive.

The mission is what makes it real. We build the practices, pathways, and conversations that take flourishing from an idea you read about to a life you actually live.

You’re welcome here, wherever you’re starting from.

who we are

A community of honest inquirers

We’re a mix — veterans and entrepreneurs, educators and executives, coaches and creatives — people who’ve lived and worked across a lot of cultures and communities, and who’ve reached different conclusions about a lot of things.

What we share is the conviction that these questions are worth sitting with, and that sitting with them together matters more than winning the argument.

The Public Launch of Human Flourishing

The Case for Optimism

Why we’re hopeful about human flourishing, and how
we get there — one honest conversation at a time.

“I choose love over fear.
Fear contracts, divides, and diminishes.
Love creates, connects, and elevates.”

The Pledge is where this starts. A short declaration of commitment —

not to a set of answers, but to a way of asking the questions.

what we believe

Seven Pillars. One movement.

Seven questions we think are worth taking seriously. Each one matters. None of them stands alone.

How we work

Four inspiring ways

Non-partisan by conviction, not by convenience. Everything works together to increase flourishing in individuals, communities, and around the world.

We make the case
for optimism

Pessimism has a mechanism, not just a mood — fear, amplified by incentives that reward alarm. We name it, and make the evidence-based case that rational optimism is the more accurate reading of the world.

We build
the movement

The Pledge is a shared commitment to honest inquiry, intellectual courage, and genuine respect across difference. Our horizon: one million signatories. Not a list. A living community.

We teach the
Practice of Dialogue

Conversations that matter take skill, and the skill can be learned. We teach it in what we publish and in Circles — a question, a guide, and a living room. It is how the movement grows.

We power
the mission

We partner with the world’s leading organizations in human development, connecting people to the tools, communities, and practices that make flourishing real in daily life.

How it happens

It starts in a living room

A Circle is like a book club, but instead of a book, there is a question that matters to discuss. A small group, in a comfortable place.

Circle topic guides are released regularly, giving you a reason to keep gathering and having meaningful conversations. The first one releasing at our formal public launch. Don’t miss it!

One million signatories.

That’s the goal — a million people who’ve put their name to the Pledge, from every tradition and every corner of the world. Not a list. A living community.
